Saturday, May 19th 2007 I've had my first race with the boys in Dexia blue... An individual time trial from Remich to Grevenmacher.
The start was at the edge of Remich and we got underway in the reverse order in which we finished last year. Since it was my first year (and since there were not a lot of newcomers) I started second in line.
A last sip of water before we shoved off...
and I was gone, following my 2-minute man up the road.
... and caught him after 7 km !!! Nice !!!
In Wormeldange I got "boxed in" with some other bikers...
but they rather annoyed me than helped me. :-(
After 28 minutes and 2 seconds I was done and had crossed the line in Grevenmacher. Since I was the first one there I had no reference (other than having taken more than the 2 minutes of my frontrunner).
I was cooked and happy to be done.
So then I waited for the boys to show up one by one...
...by one...
...by one...
...by one...
...by one...
...by one...
...by one, until only one was left...
... and I was beaten by one second.
But for my first outing to come in second, I was pretty elated :-)
After a few minutes chatting...
...we got rolling back towards Grevenmacher.
